According to the captions on these images I found on a GM media site, these are the 2006 CTS-V and 2006 STS-V... Not much change (except for the ls2 under the hood)... I spent hours searching on a GM media site to find these (I need a life)..

The third image is of a 2006 navigation system.. It makes sense, because I think the screen is showing the XM nav traffic.. I dont have that screen on my 04..

Look at the shifter... It's wood... and did they reconfigure the layout? It looks like they put reverse beside 1st gear?!

dammit.. I want that raised hood so i can add different strut brace for maggie.. As far as i can tell the panel looks same as my 05, unless i missed something. weird.. i can not believe the rear spoiler & raised hood.. That should have been an yes/no option for all V owners, from 04 till present in my opinion..

I believe the raised hood on on the STS-V, not the CTS-V

I just can't stand how they look so much alike. To the untrained eye, that picture looks like two of the same car side by side.

I agree, ACK!!!!

If I want "Wood" in my car I'll park somewhere quiet with the wife!!!!!!! LOL!

I wonder what a mild cowl hood would look like on our V??

Can anyone photoshop this??

Really. I think they look totally different from the side and rear view. From the front they are sort of similar, but no way I could confuse one for the other.

But then again, you did say untrained eye.

I think 3rd picture (NAV and different shifter) is from the interior of a CTS with the Aisin 6spd.

The reverse on the Aisin is indeed upper left...

Personally, I like the fact that the CTS, STS XLR and even the SRX share a similar look - like they're from the same family. The other Cadillacs look dated in my opinion. Kind of reminds me of the BMW family of autos - different but you can tell they are from the same family of cars.

That styling strategy works for Audi and MB:)

FWIW, a friend who works at GM asked the HPVO (high performance vehicle operations) dept. what changes are in store for the 2006 CTS V. They told him that it will get the LS2 with improved torque, same transmission, the "power hop" will be improved, and the shifting will be improved. They also said that the car will cost more :)

No orange lights on the STS...
