No more red plug wires? Where's the market research? I need red plug wires to match the red calipers. :)

The link does only show pics of the northstar and components, but the thumbnail image is of the LS2.

Click on the thumbnail for a larger pic.

See i said ls2 months ago.The performance figures should be
almost the same. But exclusivity that came with the ls6 was nice.
More liters are allways welcome.

The LS6 is a great engine, the last version came with Mahle pistons and the hd timing chain, about 5hp more than pre 04 units. While the LS2 is a nice addition to the lineup,it's pretty much the the utility performance smallblock for a variety of gm products.I like the fact the 05 V is the only(and last) GM vehcle to come with such a legendary RPO code-

And the '04 of course.

The 04 V shared the LS6 with the last C5 Z06,pretty good company though

How many GM vehicles are there running around with a 5.7 now??

Right of course i 2 think GM swaps out to many models with the same (almost the same) drivetrain setup. But ya know lS6/ZO6 its cool and rare. It'll be back to one-of-a-kind status (or 2 of a kind ZO6) when the LS7 goes in the 07 or 08 V.

performance wise, which engine should do better on the track?

2001 was'nt the first time GM had an LS6 engine. My guess is it won't be the last either.

I can only hope it's another 30 years. Just when I take my V to Barrett Jackson, and auction it for 1.5 million. :)

Never said it was the first time, that 's why I inferred to the history of the motor. They might use the RPO code again, but I wouldn't hold your breath.Last time was 1970-it took them thirty years to assign it to the 01 "Z06",which was an homage to the 63 stingray -

Bottom line is the LS2 is going to be the standard perfomance mill like the LS1 was and 5.7 350 before that.If you look back to 1970 history will relate the higher the # the more hp,(LS 3,4,5,6) and now with the 7 coming out it's obvious why they chose the low # for the base C6,SSR,GTO,V,etc.
