: Who can slot factory rotors?

I'd like to get my factory Brembo rotors slotted. Anyone know who could do that in the Houston area or anywhere else for that mater. And before we get into a debate over what is better ie. slotted, drilled or not........I want it done because I like the look of it.

There was a company that did this. I think it is rotorpro.com. I'll see what I can find real quick.

Rotorpros sells the rotor as a whole. There is a company out there to drill stock rotors. I just can't remember where I saw it.

Personally, I wouldn't want anyone to drill into these rotors. If not done right, your chances for cracks increase greatly. I would imagine the benefits are not worth the price also.

You can probably go to any local (small ) machine shop that has an indexing table and get them ball milled straight or curved . Its cast iron, easy to mill.

We can do that. We also have stainless steel brake line kits and Pagid pads available.

Katech.... could there be a group buy here? :hmm:

How much would it cost for you all to acquire the front rotors from GM (i.e., GM Parts Direct or through your source) and put slots in them?

If you pull the rotors and have them slotted, go ahead an paint the rotor hats while there off. Will save you from having to do it later when they rust. Trust me.

Try speaking with Ben Stone of...

D.I.L.U.S.I. Motorsports LLC "drive it like you stole it" :yup:

They specialize in performace brakes for vettes and vipers. My buddy with a ZO7 had dilusi build him a 6 piston frt 4 piston rear brake package that was awesome. If Ben can't or won't do it he will know someone reputable who can.

Or you could do what I did and go to KVR out of Canada. They have one piece or two piece rotors w/ alum hats, your choice of drilled, slotted or both...

SSBC (Stainless Steel Brake Corp) can make you a set of slotted rotors for your car (at least they will make a set for one of their wholesale accounts) but its really, really expensive.

I have a set of custom SSBC made rotors on my race lincoln :P

This is probably the cheapest and most realistic alternative. The V has better brakes already than most 4 dr sedans out there except for perhaps a Maserati or Aston Martin.

I think a group buy through Katech would be best since we know they do really good work and through there racing experience with GM. OK Katech, an answer?

You could also ask Baer (http://www.baer.com) to get a group buy together. (just my two cents)

Depends on price for me. I'm in if the price is right. Mark knows what my pain tolerance is, we've talked.

Ok guys, here it is. If I can get a minimum of 10 of you guys to commit on these slotted brake rotors, I will be able to sell them for $595.00 plus shipping. They have 8 slots inside and out that will be 3/16ths of an inch wide by about an 1/8" deep. If I don't get 10 orders, the retail is going to be $725.00. Send me an email if you are interested in doing this, ls1@katechengines.com. The time frame on this happening depends on how quickly we can get the orders in and also the parts. So, the quicker I have 10 pre-orders, the quicker I can order the parts.

More info on KVR Performance...

$455.00 gets you front and rear axel sets of gas slotted or cross drilled single piece rotors. Also, cad plated in your choice of color; silver, gold or black.

Could be even less with a group buy.

https://www.kvrperformance.com/world/world.html

If you look under the "Hot" section on their website it also shows the two piece rotor they have designed for the CTS-V. Aluminum hats = 6lbs lighter per corner.

Thanks TEXAN, looking at their site now. Katech a little pricy, but good quality.

Cadillac Motor Sports did mine using new OEM rotors. Cross drilled slotted, cyro treated and epoxy painted hats for $650. This guy is good. Here's his e-mail address:

I only have the highest regards for Terry at KVR Performance, and their standard rotors are outstanding. However, if you guys have taste for quality, get their two piece units.
Yes, more money (quite a bit) but those rotors are lighter, stronger, no rust on the hats (aluminum now) and the cooling fins inside are directional - much better cooling.
I am sure Terry is open to a group buy.

Can you possibly post a pic of them. I am trying to decide between slotted or cross drilled.

Silver Baron, soory to go off topic but I gotta ask... are these the front splitters you got?

http://www.jspamerica.com/importperformance_carbon_profile.cfm?productID=&productTypeID=&model=&productLineID=55&makeID=&fromModelYear=&toModelYear=&productID=CF3005

And did you like them?

Silver Baron

Yep,
splitter just needed a bit of cutting away & redrilling and they fit the mounting holes under the front bumper
