I'm thinking of buying the closeout Hoosier racing slicks. Only size is 245/40/18. Doesn't seem to me to be a problem, but I'm looking for the advice of those wiser than me.

No clearance problems, because this tire is quite a bit smaller in diameter.

A quick story on these tires: I called Tire Rack because I bought my current Hoosiers through them (along with Mille Miglia rims). The guy at Tire Rack told me I absolutely couldn't use 245/40/18s because "the computer won't recognize them" and some other nonsense.

Then I went and checked the Hoosiers I already have. You guessed it--they're 245/40/18s. So they obviously do fit.

PCM will have a fit if you mix 245 and 240 (front / rear)... 240's all the way around, no issues... as you found out.

:hmm: I was trying to figure out why you were asking since I remembered you had that size Hoosier already. In fact, you were the reason that I had no worries in getting the 245/40 18 slick.

You crazy man.:cookoo: :D
