The silicone seal of my door has fallen off the door, so I would like to know if it's easily replaceable? It looks like the door is attached to a round "insert" that comes out somehow, but how exactly? Twist? http://cadillacforums.com/forums/images/smilies/dizzy.gif

<cough cough> Gotta get this done by wednesday http://cadillacforums.com/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif
also, can anyone confirm this part number:
I think it was called a fuel pressure valve? (wtf?) It doesn't sound right, but it was pointing to the flapper at the back of the intake.....

The whole assembly of that pop off valve turns and pulls out.
If you want a fix to drive it before replacing it just put a thin bead of RTV around the perimeter of the flapper valve, let it close and let it set up overnight before driving. That will seal it up fine to use the car but you will not have the popoff valve completely operational...which is kind of a "no big deal" deal....

And in the unlikely event of a backfire? Plastic shrapnel? http://cadillacforums.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
...and depending on your answer to that, can I just screw the thing shut, and seal it up? Keep in mind my car has a history of intake backfires. http://cadillacforums.com/forums/images/smilies/angel.gif
The intake looks pretty thick..... but then there obviously was a reason the door was put there to begin with...
