After 2500 miles after putting in a oil change i'm getting a oil level warning. This is the 3rd time that happened. I know the car eats oil like a beast but is it really that bad? I remember a few weeks ago someone had the same problem and had to get the engine replaced because of this.

So is this a "typical" V behavior or am I having problems?

And.....is the oil low when you check it? I have had two '80's era mustang 5.0's that were good for a quart overy 1500-2000 since new. I have heard of similar consumption with some V's....though mine does not use any significant amount of oil. But mine does not use differentials either so I may not be using it right.

d Yes, I checked on the dipstick and the oil level was really low.
I can tell you it's going to need more than one quart.

Did you check it right after the oil change? They could have put in the standard 5 quarts instead of 6 (I can get about 6.5 in mine before it is on the top line of the dipstick.). That would explain why it went down so fast.

Same here ,when I get my oil changed It always is 1/2 quart low.I will drive it till I need gas then put in a quart good for 3000 miles.
