Same here I might trade in my car. If not, the Maggie will be installed,

Off topic sort of, but did any one else see that the Escalade V might get a V-12? That would sure shake things up around the world.

If this is true... :woohoo:

However, that page hasn't been updated in months... they even call it a 6.4L LS7, and the rumored 600+ super vette....

Autoweek just had some stuff where the Zeta platform wasw canceled, and the SRX-V was axed also. I don;t have the link right in front of me though.

With the mods they had to make to the LS6 to get it to fit in the V, I'm wondering how the hell they're going to get an LS7 in. I guess the redesign for '07/'08 will handle it.

By that time gas for the V should be about $3.00/gallon... :drinker

That article is from last year. It clearly says "rumored" clearly says "08". Shows you how Much GMinsider know. They are so inside they didn't know the LS7 was a 7.0.

... and for all we know, the rumor started with us.

Either way, guys, get the Maggie. Six (or seven, depending on your aesthetics) grand, amortized over the next 2+ years, equals under $250/month for better-than-LS7 driving excitement until the LS7 comes in the 2008 model. And if it doesn't come, well, like I said, you've already got better than LS7 performance.

Your also not figuring in the 4yr 50k warranty that you are throwing away. I've played with many turbos and a few chargers and I can tell you that you better know how to tune your own car, because they become the tune can become very fickle.

I also did not calculate IRR, NPV, ROI, payback period, or in any way include a time value of money calculation. I didn't mean to posit a formal financial justification. My calculation was more like, V + Maggie = fun, until something better comes along.

My warranty calculation was, "Warranty, shmarranty." Your mileage may vary. Note: I've already had some warranty work done with no problems.

I don't know how you came to the conclusion that I was knit-picking your figures, A warranty is very important to alot of us and i'll bet 99% of us would not have bought the car w/out one. I do understand how adding HP to our cars make them more enjoyable, but I also know that in incompetent hands you will wish to God that you still had that warranty. Its almost as bad as a novice with NO2 after he melts a piston <~~ :disappoin

an LS7 would drop right into an 05 V just fine.

You are all wrong..... it looks like an 06 GM test mule with the new engine made it out and is now on Ebay... NOT an LS2... NOT an LS7...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4541921237&category=43903....... take a look.:lildevil:

This is HIGHLY unlikely to occur for at LEAST a few years. Much like the 06' V will be getting the LS2 in late production of the current CTS body, the next CTS will probably not inherit the LS7 til at least its second or third year. That engine has to retaiN exclusivity for the Z06 through at least its first to second year of production.

That motor most certainly does not have to JUSt be in the Z06 for a couple of years. Gm is trying to take BMW with GM's Premeir brand, Cadillac. With GM dumping alot of money into Caddy and especially the V series, I highly dobt that would be the reason. I would guess its more the driveline and suspension ie. wheelhop and rear.
