: Sudden Stall

Weirdest thing happened last night. Went to make a left hand turn and the car died. Pulled the code and all I got was: DTC P1599 History - Engine Stall or Near Stall Detected. Cleared the code and restarted the car. The car currently has 103000 miles on. I just changed the plugs, wires, tranny fluid, coolant, and new brakes. Haven't had the problem happen again but I just thought it was very strange that there were no other codes. Is this a sign of something that might be common on the north*? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had that happen along with an erratic shift only once when I had 47K miles on my '93 STS. It never happened again until recently, and then I traced it down to a broken shift solenoid. The code that your set off is not an answer, but a symptom. You might refer to my Tranmission Shift Solenoids A & B thread under the Seville & Eldorado heading.

It's only one avenue to consider...
