: Difficult to replace factory stereo?

My '93 FWB only has the standard stereo with the cassette, and the radio works fine, but the cassette player is crapped out.

I REALLY want to replace it with a working cassette/CD model, which I can get at a pretty good price, but I was wondering how difficult it would be to switch one for another?

What part of the dash has to come off? Would it be a simple "unplug old and plug-in new" situation if I'm replacing it with one from the same thing, only functioning? :hmm:

Anyone? :hmm:

I'd assume it's pretty simple when sticking with stock, but wasn't sure. Anyone have a '93-'96 cassette/CD head unit they aren't using? :)

So no one's ever taken the stocker out and known what was involved? :hmm:

I hardly think this would be the case ;)

Don't know the answer, sorry.

Thanks for that link...I should have posted there in the first place. Just figured since so many people here w/ FW's have done such a change, they'd be able to say something.
