Here is a fix for your rattling A/C vents. The vents rattle because of a weak spring that pushes the vent shutters together.

Remove the vent that is rattling and open your favorite beverage (very important).

Disassemble the vent by gently releasing the tabs around the vent.

Remove the plastic bow/spring assembly from the center of the vent.

Remove the factory spring from the plastic bow.

Cut a heavy bobby pin slightly shorter than the factory spring and put slight bends on each end of the cut bobby pin as shown.

Reassemble the bow and bobby pin as shown and put the vent back together. Your vents will be noticeably tighter and best of all will no longer rattle.

Yes, I read about the damage from the dealership. I also agree with the post there.......be prepared for a fight. A car has NEVER been damaged in the hands of the dealership, no matter what the facts, witnesses or video evidence may suggest. My ass puckers everytime I drop it off.

I have a fix for the rear diff that involves a brooch and a shower cap... one of these days I'll get around to posting it.

(It's an expensive fix, 'cause your beverage has to either be champagne or a Cosmopolitan.)
