Anyone ever try these:

http://www.amazon.com/Magnum-VS25045-MaxDry-Valve-Gasket/dp/B007VYHIY4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1378164551&sr=8-2&keywords=FEL-PRO+Part+%23+VS50526R

Been looking around and can't, for the life of me, see why the stupid valve cover gasket kits list between $65-$100.

I bought the Fel-Pro set when I opened the motor last time, went to remove the valve covers this time and cracked the gasket...broke it right in half...only has 18,000 miles on it.

Anyway, for $14, I'm game...any thoughts?

I mean it is a good price. Looks like it is going for $75 on ebay...

However, I could not find any reviews on the product. For me, if I am buying online, I like reviews first. Plus, you cannot take it to a store to return them if they fail within those 2 years. But 14 dollars isn't much.

However, it does say "Ships within 1 to 2 months" so I am guessing they are made over seas and currently not in stock. Can you wait that long?

Got the gaskets a few days ago....look and feel like they should and I think they'll work just fine; ESPECIALLY for $14...

Not to hijack, Chris, but the various seals have some radical price differences from different suppliers - the Dorman intake manifold plenum and 8 seals is $15 - total - from Rock Auto. GM dealership gets $40-something for the plenum and about $7 EACH (2002 price) for the intake manifold seals.

"My Momma told me;
You better shop around ........."

I do shop around....and this isn't what I was shopping for, lol, I was looking for valve cover gaskets...:hmm:

You might want to read the whole thread before you hijack it...or at least the heading...:histeric:

You're good Jim, and as always; any input is appreciated :Poke:

After re-reading your post, I think you may have meant it as a "for instance" scenario, but never wrote it up like that...articulation is key, lol

Okay, after purchasing these valve covers, and installing, I must say they work out pretty good...there is just one thing about them that I am NOT a fan of...the little plugs that go around the valve cover bolts.

They are really thick...

...and when seated they sit outside the bolt throughs...

And when torqued they squish out to one side...not happy with that aspect. They will sit if you push all around while torquing, but who wants to do that?

All in all, the gaskets were good (especially for $13) and everything else fits right...I'm just going to reuse the original gaskets around the bolts...

if you are referring to the bolt you are holding to the left those are for pre 2000 valve covers, the one you have to the right are the ones used in 2000+

Bolt, or rubber grommet? The bolts are the same, but if the grommets are for older valve covers, than I should argue with the gasket company, lol

the rubber grommet is from the pre 2000 northstars.
