View Full Version : 10k to spend, what's the best I can expect used? pccinema 03-30-05, 01:30 AM I'd like to get a used sedan deville or similar 4dr v8 luxury caddy, 95 or newer, in as pristine shape as is ever found. You know, owned by granny and just driven to church... Oh and with impossibly low mileage... But ALSO one that has the best history of reliability engine or design wise.
Ok, aside from that dream...
Lets say you had $10k, maybe up to $13k, and you're and expert on here what would you look for and expect for your budget realistically?
Troy lxndrtg 03-30-05, 08:19 AM I bought two of my DeVilles from the local "upscale" Caddy dealership from their "off lot" stock. These are cars that were traded in on new Caddys and are too good to wholesale but not new enough to put on their main showcase lot.
I got two real creampuffs, each one was under $10,000, had pretty low mileage and looked really great. At least you might want to check it out. I have a 1998 Deville Concours with 66,000 miles that I am asking $9750 for... and I am sure you can pick up a '98-00 Seville for that price as well. caddydaddy 03-30-05, 09:42 AM I'm sure you could get a nice 1998-1999 Deville for your prices, as well as a nice Eldorado or Seville. Playdrv4me 03-30-05, 10:08 AM I originally found this for my brother, but if you want to offer this guy maybe 7500-8k for this? Its at a Lexus dealer in Houston and is among the best kept low mileage STS ive seen in ALONG time... Plus youll have alot of dough left over for upgrades/wheels etc.

I did all my homework on the DeVille & Towncar (I already had a towncar - I like it too!) - safety ratings, etc. & prices (wholesale, private party, & dealer retail). With between 40-50k, I found that the dealers and private sellers were asking from $12k-$14k. I found my '99 DeVille (std) with all the options but a moonroof and cd player - 1 owner - 53k miles - excellent condition - from a dealer for $9950 cash - no trade. I jumped on it. SuperSport 03-31-05, 12:20 AM A year ago I paid what you're looking to spend for my '99 DeVille Delegance with 31000 miles on the clock. Original Michelins on the car to this day. The car was a lot ornament since everyone around here feared poor gas mileage... Little do they know! You should be able to find a similar deal. They're out there. Just be patient and not impulsive. I looked at this particular car for a good month before I commited. The price dropped a grand in the meantime. I found a '99 SLS at a Lexus dealer for my daughter about 2 months ago with 24K on it. Got it for $13,000 out the door. ElDawgg 2G 03-31-05, 04:57 PM Hello...
I recently purchased a 2000 STS with 85K miles from a Wholesaler.
I located the car online at autotrader.com
It was also in their periodical. There were 3 prices advertised:
$10,900 (online), $11,900 (autotrader magazine), and $12,900 (on the window).
I checked the carfax report (for what it's worth)...
then called the original owner, who confirmed the integrity of the car-
one owner and dealer serviced, never wrecked and high highway miles.
He was informative about some electrical issues we've both experienced with the car.
I offered $10,500 and handed over a check.
I performed: Oil change, filters (fuel,air,cabin), dex-coolant drain+pellets.
Plugs, battery, brakes and tires as scheduled.
I've put on 6,000 miles since December.
You should be able to find a similar car.
Good luck and do your homework! Young DeVille 03-31-05, 07:52 PM I'll sell my 97 Deville Dark Blue on Blue for $10,000 with less then 50,000 miles.

did that tint come with the car, or added later. Also how much was your magnaflow exhaust, and what does it sound like. I'm going to put a flowmaster on my deville, and just wanted to know what the magnaflow is like. | |
