Well I got my deville today I got them down to $4,600 OTD with tax, tittle and tag included,Also had my mechanic recheck turns out the water pump isn't bad after all. This car is solid and runs great given all the new things it has like the belts, wires, plugs, hoses, seals and the radiator all being new I think i did good on the price. I've seen devilles for this price that needed ALOT of work done to them. The asking price was $5,500 but I thought that kinda high or maybe its just me. Anyways my fuel gauge will read 11 gallons of gas and then go to 10 gallons and back almost as if its confused lol. I was down to 3 gallons and put some gas in and it was reading it has 11 gallons in it. So is it normal for it to do this or is there something wrong with the fuel tank sensor (if thats what its called) maybe?

Sounds like it's not reading right, it can change between 1-2 gallons every minute or two depending on how close it is between the two. But if you had 3 gallons, and it reads 11, that's not right! I'd check the fuel sender.

Iam sorry I should have been more clear in what I meant it had 3 gallons but went between 3-4 gallons on the display. After I put gas in it registered that by reading 10 gallons of gas. I just toped it off and it reads full now so I'll drive it around a bit and see what it does. By the way how do I check the fuel sensor? Could it be a fuse maybe? Thank you for the help so far.

Oh, ok, well if it's only fluctuating by 1 gallon, I wouldn't worry. Both of my 94's did the same. If it's off by a lot, then I'd worry. The sender is part of the fuel pump, I'm not sure if it can be replaced or the whole assembly needs to be replaced. But it sounds like you don't need to worry about that now! Enjoy your new Deville!

Thanks alot caddydaddy I love this car it ride and drives wonderfully, like my dad always says "nothing else is a cadillac". I plan to take very good care of her I'am having the collant flushed and new coolant/coolant pelllets added, and the oil needs to be changed it canw ait a bit longer but I figured I'd get it all done at once. last thing is I only put the premium fuel 93 grade. And speaking of which am i going insane because i could have sworn theres a such thing as 91 unleaded but haven't seen any in my neck of the woods.

When you fill up, reset the "fuel used" and watch the difference in the fuel used as it increases vs. the tank level reading as it decreases to get an idea if the fuel level gauge is working correctly.

there is 91 octiane , got a station uyp the street that sells it , but your right its a odd octaine to find ....
as for changing oil , its always a good idea to do that early when you first get a car ..after that just use the "oil life monitior" you can find this by pushing "information" till you get to "oil life left" then go by that , youll go 7,000 miles between oil changes sometimes ...
Couple neat tricks/ideas :
AT night push "display on/off" then push "information" you can have just the speed and avg mpg on the dash with nothing else....its pretty neat at night esp witht he dimmer turned down , makes things nice and dark....
If you have a regualr commute , keep a eye on the "instant mpg" , watch how it operates and what milage you get at times . this not only tells you how bad a boy you are with the go pedal but after awhile you see whats normal and what isnt in certain steches , a good way to keep tabs on the engines and your perfomace ....
