How many people have done came swaps with their LT1's? B/D/F/Y bodies all welcome.

I would like some info on cam swaps that people have done to the LT1.

What gearing? What other mods? Intake mods, head porting, injectors, ECM program changes, headers, etc?

Did it help power at any rpm? Did it hurt power at any rpm?

Did it help driveablity at any rpm? did it hurt drivability rpm?

What cam did you swap to?

And after all that, was it worth it and would you do it again?

I swapped the cam in my car. I went with a comp cam cc502. The car feels great at rpm all rpm ranges, but really wakes up between 3000 and 6000 rpm. I also installed combination motorsports valve springs and comp pro magnum 1.6 rockers. This gave me a total lift of 526/536. I still have the stock iron heads but I had them cleaned and got the valves cut. The first time i ever ran a car at the a track was in January. I ran a 14.9 then a 14.8 then a 14.7.
I went from 14.9 to 14.7 just by emptying the trunk and I had a bad O2 sensor bung that was leaking and ultimately fell off during my last run. :crying2:

Will stock valve springs support 1.6 rockers? Or is it too close to stackup?

That is one I am thinking of also.

What are the cam specs of the cc502?

Thanks!
