My old caddy has a problem. The cooling fan warning light comes on after ruuning the car for several minutes then goes off (during call for heat) cycles on and off (durning call for A/C. I have changed the t-stat and temp sensor and radiator cap. The radiator fans seem to run continuously even when you first start the car after being off overnight. Any thoughts and where are the fans relays located in this car?? Someone else told me it might some problem with fan module???? Ciltons does not detail this fan module or where one might find it or how to check it out????? It is a 1986 Deville FWD with a 4.1 engine. Any help would be most apprieciated :banghead:

It has been suggested on this site that if the paper used for the pages of Chilton and Haynes manuals were softer they might actually be of value in an outhouse?

While I can't speak to your problem directly, I can suggest you get an OEM manual from www.helminc.com (http://www.helminc.com) it will likely run you just under $40 with shipping. It contains very complete and comprehensive information about your car.

There may be someone else who has experience with your year who might be able to help more specifically with your problem.

Good luck!

I think the relays are mounted by the fans. Follow the wires from the fans.

I agree with Kev on the Chiltons and Haynes manuals.

Have factory service manual. My fans started running by themselves when i washed the motor. They ran pretty slow. Then that was the last time they ran. I replaced the fan control module but now the outside temp reads -40F. Ive read through the manual but its confusing, it sends u in a loop between 3 different pages and never gives answer. In those 3 pags doestn even mention fan control module. No power to module with test light, assuming red wire is hot.
