Hey. apparently on the 1980 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham there's a little switch above the differential that tells the compressor when to turn on and off to inflate/deflate the back air shocks. i got it tested, and it's broken, and everyone i've talked to says not to get it from a junkyard, because those are usually the first things to break, and even if i get one that works, it won't work for long. so does anyone know where i can get one of these little switch things? (other than from Cadillac)

There's plenty of parts sources like GM Parts Direct, etc., but I'd take a shot at the junkyard myself if I didn't just get it from the dealer (if it's still available).

I Presume You Are Refering To The Level Sensor Mounted To A Bracket, The Sensor Has An Arm That Moves Up And Down, If Thats Correct, The Toronado's Of That Era Used The Same Sensor. I Would Have No Second Thoughts Of Getting One From A Wrecking Yard. Mount It, Push The Arm Fully Up And Turn The Key To The Run Position, Within 30 Seconds Or So, The Shocks Should Inflate Or At Least You Will Hear The Compressor Turn On. Then Mount The Link To The Axle. I've Always Adjusted The Arm On The Sensor Up In Relation To The Connecting Link, Keeps More Residual Air In The Shocks, Car Rides Better I Think.
