My favorite Caddies
1- 1992 Sedan deVille- very understated elegance, quick reliable, modern, very practical for a 17 year old
2- 1978 Eldorado Biarritz- last of the REAL big ones, best seats ever-bar none
3- 1987 Brougham d'Elegance- the first thing that pops into my head when i say cadillac, classic elegance, my first cadillac love ever.
4- 1976 Fleetwood Brougham D'elegance- just so goddamn big, 500cid "cadillac of Cadillacs"
5- 1983 Eldorado Biarritz- VERY good looking car, great interior, great candidate for an LS6 350.

Good list, i agree with atleast 2 cars but i also have some others. so here is my list.
1- Fleetwood brougham -76. I looked for one to buy in a couple of years and finaly. last summer i bought one.
2- Brougham d'elegance -87 I went to buy one, my father followed me, and it ended up with that my father bought the car.
3- Fleetwood brougham -96 A car that i would have as my daily driver. A daily driver that would stand no one behind.
4- Eldorado conv. -76. A milestone car.
5- cadillac -59. No caddy list is complete without the -59.

Some serious luxury car
experts piping in there. The
underlying point to be derived
herefrom is that the 1980's
apparently sucked, seeing that
only the 1983 & 1987 Brougham
D'Elegance, 83 Eldo., 84 Coupe
;and, the big 1989's were deemed
worthy of any merit and due
recognition whatsoever.
Did the 80's really suck that bad?
Please advise.

:hmm: :coolgleam

They were probably very good mechanicly
and they were very large, but the somehow
didn't look chisled or elegant, just BIG. I also
think it was the high belt line look that did not
age well. But....that's just my opinion.
I thought the C body started going down hill
with the 1977s and did not come back to
grace & style until 1989, but did so in '89
with fireworks !!

:hmm: :coolgleam
Why do i feel compelled
to copy your style ??
I'm powerless over it....

Every 1976 model except the Seville. Fuel injection on all of them please. Of course the resident 59. And for a nice pair of daily drivers an STS-V and an XLR-V. It would've been cool if GM had sold the sixteen concept to that dude who wanted to pay a couple million $ for it... but since they didn't add it to my list.

My favorite of all time, 1983 Coupe deVille, but I'm just a little bit more than biased towards that car. Some others that come to mind: 1964's, 1975-76's, any rear drive Cadillacs from the 80's.

Well, my all-time favorite year for Cadillac is 1969. So:
1969 Fleetwood Brougham (triple black or triple dark blue, tons of power and torque [mid-16-sec 1/4 mile times stock], thick & plush leather seats, last year for real wood door panels [until it returned in the '80s] and on dash, plenty of room in the rear, huge [20-cu-ft] trunk, very reliable 472 engine and transmission)
1969 Fleetwood Seventy-Five Limousine
1976 Fleetwood Seventy-Five Limousine (also 1975; practically the same thing)
1976 Fleetwood Talisman (triple black or triple dark blue; also 1975)
1970 Fleetwood Brougham
1969/1970 Coupe de Ville (my family had owned several years ago- impressive power and thick leather seats)
1966 Fleetwood Brougham (I like the walnut wood door panels and the rear picnic tables)
1968 Fleetwood Brougham (another great year for Cadillac)
1959 Eldorado Seville (How can one ignore the towering fins)
