But there was another picture of the same limousine idea in this forum and is it just for show off!? it would be something to go off-road with... LOL :D doktorek 03-24-05, 11:47 AM There is a company that makes one with 5" raised roof, satellite, and stretched about 10" between the doors and doors extended another 10". Looks really hot. I will try to get some pics next time I go back to the coach builder. Sealing is done just like on a Maybach. Katshot 03-24-05, 12:21 PM GM is NOT in the business of building limousines. Cadillac has the CMC(Cadillac Master Coachbuilder) program and they basically control anyone that builds a "legitimate" limousine using Cadillac base vehicles. If someone builds a limo outside the umbrella of the CMC, they are on their own and will have no support for that vehicle. These would include these "mile-long" Escalades with all kinds of crap in them including hot-tubs etc. They are built by NON-CMC coachbuilders and should be VERY suspect with respect to safety and build quality. Personally, I would never ride in one or let my kids ride in one, as is so popular at prom time. There's a reason why GM does NOT support these vehicles and if you saw how they were built, you wouldn't either. Unfortunately, NHTSA and the federal DOT refuses to clamp-down on these companies so they continue building unsafe vehicles and the general public jumps in them "assuming" that they are safe. If GM doesn't support it why them show that limo and also the DTS limo on NY Autoshow? tdogg5184 03-24-05, 03:06 PM Prob because it was built by the supported company CMC. Reread the post. ALLeyez187onME 03-26-05, 06:44 PM that limo looks clean without the escalade badges..... | |
