Noticed coolant leaking from bottom of water pump housing. And my engine seems to overheat while idle. Engine has 180,xxx miles on it, runs strong, and as far as I know the water pump hasn't been replaced. Ordered a bunch of parts and am going to try changing it myself. I got a lot of info from this thread, http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-dts-forum-2006-through-2012/285580-water-pump-replacement-2007-dts.html, and it recommended I change all the parts associated with the pump.
Here is a list of parts I ordered, all are GM OEM:
12559807- Thermostat
3522676- Thermostat seal/ O-ring
251 698- AC Delco Water pump (gmpartsdirect lists the water pump as #12583033, do I have the correct part?.)
12600020- Water pump gasket
251-2027- (x2) water pump gasket
251-2023- (x2) water pump gasket
3535846- Water pump pulley
12588412- Water pump belt

Should I order 12555153- Belt tensioner? Am I forgetting anything? If I were to bring all the parts to a local mechanic how much do you guys think they'll charge?

This is a big job, you are missing the crossover gaskets ( 4 of them ). The crossover has to come off to remove the water pump, you must use NEW GASKETS.

Since when? All other fwd n*s never needed the cover assembly pulled.

No more special tool for the water pump is needed anymore as well. 2006-2011 pump is behind crossover. Pump can not be removed without taking off CROSSOVER.

What is the part number for the crossover gasket? Either acdelco#, or gm#. Thanks for your reply.

@Toms Caddy- Also how do you remove the water pump pulley without the tool? If I'm correct, its a pressed on part, and the tool grabs one of the outer threads and pulls it out.

your thermostat seal is the old design part number and will not fit right in the recess where it sits in the pump cover housing

use #12574478 ... it is a little bit thicker and will form a good seal (as it should)

Thanks for everyone's feedback. @chris I ordered the new part, thanks. @tomscaddy the water pump gaskets (251-2023, 251-2027) are the crossover gaskets. Looks like I have everything I need.
