Had a trackday on 8/14 at Lightning. First time with the car there since the fuel leak last fall. Track was pretty green in the morning as it rained heavily the day and night before. Weather was great though.
Had a new set of scrubs on the car and was toying around with different pressures. Wasn't going all out at 10/10ths but was working on different lines through T3 & T5. I'll have more pics and the video up later in the day.

PS - there is another 2 events coming up at Lightning on 9/23 and 9/24.
The 23rd is an open track test/tune for Advanced drivers and the 24th is for Novice/Intermediate drivers

Nice job on the splitter Chris. Can't wait to get mine on. How is the clearance loading it on the trailer?

Car's looking good. How are the seats holding up? Would you have picked a different seat, based on what you know now?

No issues loading it since I have a set of Race Ramps that I always used anyways.
I have to strap the car differently now though. If you look at the splitter pics in the Build thread you'll see there is very little room between the ratchet strap and the splitter now. It was always tight but now its nearly impossible to undo the ratchet. I never liked where the car sat in the trailer to begin with as it needs to be moved up for the car to be centered over the trailer wheels but now I have to move the tie downs forward by about 12".

Actually based on what I know now I'm quite happy with the halo seat.
There was a guy recently in a Vette lose a break pad in T7 at Lightning. He had no halo seat and managed to get into the tire barrier, get knocked out of the harness sideways and split his helmet along with his head on the shifter. Had to get medivac'd off the track.
Don't get me wrong, it does hinder the vision plus I also run a center net, but I'd rather be safe then sorry.

great video - you brake way early on 7 ;)

maybe that's why my brakes get beat to hell...

No doubt in T7 and T1.
Earlier there was mud and water near there and I even went a session just leaving it in 4th, but yeah the car has plenty left.
We had cameras set up in T3 and T5 and depending on what line I took I would make it to the bridge just over a hundred. After Aaron made a few pointers and I took my time to follow the line I was 113 or so at the bridge. Need some work on the lightbulb too, depending on my exit I was seeing 142 into T1

Loved the video. That is one fast track. I have been following the build for a while. That car is looking great too!

Random fact. My name is Chris as well, I have always run #83 and my V is silver as well...carry on. Lol

dang... I normally get to just over 100 before T7 but maybe 135 before T1. That's probably b/c I'm still not hitting the lightbulb as fast as I could - still learning to trust my tires.

I've always been spooky going over T5 - spun it twice there and I'm still learning to handle the weight of the back end. From the white stuff I see on your video, it looks like someone blew their engine over it sometime before you.

Actually I was just going to mention that. It was the first on track incident we've had at any of those days. One car spun going over T5 and actually came back around to hit the rear of the car behind him. Everyone was ok just one of those track things.

Regarding 5, what we worked on during the day was to actually give up T2 and not hit the apex. Open up the radius and be parallel to the white line (left side) so you're lined up on the right for T4.
From the exit point the car towards the Coca-Cola sign and again run parallel to the white line (left side) into T5. Using the grading to progressively add more steering.

The mentallity is that giving up the 2-3 will net you more in 4-5-6-7 and that 5-6-7 segment makes up a large portion of the track...

funny, I was wondering why you weren't hitting T2-3 "right" either

How is the camera mounted? It's moving around just enough to make me feel weird watching. :p

I think it's the plex/polycarbonate flexing.

Still just suction cupped to the windshield. I didn't order the rollcage mount yet
