has anyone upgraded thier stock system in the rear wheel drive fleetwoods? i have a 1985 fleetwood bro'ham and would like to keep the stock head unit and add an amp, and just replace the speakers all nice and stealthy so as it all looks original.

If you want to keep the original head unit, JL is making a product I think called Cleansweep or something like that, it lets you take any signal at all, and it gets rid of equalization and stuff. Here, try this link.

Just one more thought, if you want to keep the stock headunit but want to be able to play CDs or MP3s, the glovebox is a fine place to put a CD player. It took me less than 4 hours to remove the glovebox, run the wire, hide it under the carpet, and hook everything up to an $11 Lincoln amp I put in the trunk. Works like a champ, and my stock head unit still shows the time. Nothing could look more stock!
