Just drove our new XTS on a 325 mile trip from Flagstaff to Durango. I was amazed that we averaged 29.5 mpg. And this car isn't even broken in yet -- 725 total miles. What a pleasant surprise. And what a comfortable ride -- we weren't at all tired when we arrived.

I also get good mpg with mine. Last trip 150 miles averaged 29.3. And yes, what a comfortable ride.

Read # 13 post in http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-xts-forum/346033-does-anyone-use-paddle-shifters.html#post10740074 about my surprise as to high MPG pushing the XTS over a few 11,000 feet mountain passes.

Thanks for the thread on paddle shifters. I need to try those out.
By the way, I forgot to mention that my XTS has all wheel drive. This makes the gas mileage even more impressive.

I don't have AWD My last two days were not that outstanding as to gas mileage. May be the very high temps in the desert area are the reason. LOL. Funny thing happened to-day about 45 min out of Vegas on I-15 south. Had the odd ping (just one ping) every so often, sometimes after 2 minutes, than after 5 or 10 minutes. No DIC or CUE messages or any other observation. Car run well. I had OnStar do a check-out as well. No error messages. Anyone else ever had such? Will have to watch that.

For information further on this subject. On my first leg from the Toronto area to Las Vegas (alone as wife will fly into LV being still busy on stage at a local theatre) on a 7 weeks tour of the US, - attending a wedding in the SF bay area and sightseeing - for that 2,476.4 mile trip, including 45 minutes in line at the border, stop and go traffic all the way through Indiana well past all the turn-off's to Chicago in Illinois, leaving the Interstate hi-ways shortly before Vail, CO for normal 2 lane highway driving in the mountains, side trips and some trips into towns was for the 2,476.4 (*) miles trip 27.4 mpg, with the best at 29.3 from downtown Denver to Montrose at 53.3 mph average speed and the worst 25.7 from Page, AZ to Las Vegas, NV. at 53.8 mph average speed (includes US hi-way 9 through Zion park with its switch-backs and many stops) between fill ups. Love the way the car handles the road. Pleasure to drive it. (*) shortest route per Google would have been 2,232 miles
