My 2008 CTS has a 3.6 DI engine and came with the performance package. How do I determine if the brakes are JE5 or J55?
Also, does these two use the same size pads?

Dragon,

Welcome to the forum. There a lot of knowledgeable posters here and browse to your heart's content. Read and learn!

Turn over the spare tire cover and you should have a printout of everything built into your car! It should say what brakes you have on your car.

And no, not the same pads.

You can also PM Cadillac customer care on here with your VIN and they will provide all your car has.

Marv, what if you don't have a spare tire (only the fix-a-flat and air compressor)? I looked in there and didn't see anything.

The spare was an option, but the tag should still be on the underside of the carpeted cover, unless somebody removed it.

Yes Hurst is correct, I don't have a spare and my tag is on my "fix a flat and compressor storage cover".

Nice. Thanks all. Looks like previous owner removed it . On hold with Cadillac now... Hopefully I can get someone with a brain. Did the brake package have anything to do with wheel size? I have the 17" wheels, not the 18".

OK, took about 20 minutes on customer service hold, but they confirmed I have JE5 brakes. Thanks all!
