they might build what ive been asking for in my mind for years .....a 4 door porsche ....the ultimate sedan .....the ultimate beemer killer ...http://www.autoweek.com/images/news/101990

Due out in 2008, the Panamera has been conceived as successor to the 928. Designed with space for four adults, it is also tipped to come clothed in a four-door body in a move that will pitch it into direct competition with cars like the Mercedes-Benz CLS and Maserati Quattroporte.

call me crazy but im in love with this car ......but i loved the 928 too ...

Yea, thats a CLS fighter for sure, but it looks a little TOO much like the CLS from that profile. Especially since thats what I thought it was before reading further.

next thing you know well will see a 4 door corvette based car from pontiac called tempest , makeing 450hp , room for four and just as low slung as a vette ...with the meanest styleing ever placed on a car (ive drawn this car over and over for years trying to come up with the perfect look)

oh wait ...its only once every 4 years a automaker comes out with an idea ive had ...

No. Just no.

OK, maybe if they were suicide doors but cars with that body style shouldn't have 4 doors. :helpless:

I immediately thought of an M3.
As for the Porsche, I heard that project has been cancelled. You want a 4-door 'Vette, buy a CTS-v!

If I was Porsche CEO and THIS was shown to me... I'd fire the entire designer team, and anyone who had anything to do with such godawful idea...

Better yet I'd have them :brutal:

Ahh, Porsche! German cars that dont suck (except for the Cayenne).

I'm mixed on this -- not sold on it, but not against it yet.

I think the Porche looks like the north end of a south-bound mule. :D JMHO The link to the Lamborghini SUV looks like an old Ford Bronco, with a v12. I think I'd rather have an old Ford Bronco though, I'd feel less like an idiot when I took it off roading and tore it up.

They need to rethink the rear end. You can't just slap a 911 rear on a sedan, the proportions are all off...a Hatchback? The profile is ok and the front end is probably ok as well but the rear needs something all new.

I just read an article that seems to support the idea that this car actually WILL be built. Sorry I mentioned that I heard it wasn't going to be built. I know I read it somewhere that the 4-door project was cancelled. I guess they revived it. Again, sorry if I mislead anyone.

<------ Use to be a die hard Porsche fan..

I had a 1995 993 Cabriolet that I absolutely loved. But the 993 was the last REAL Porsche to come out of Germany.

After the 993 things went downhill real fast for the production end of Porches. First they ruined the 911 with the 996 which went away from the traditional Porsche engines with water cooling, they also destroyed the lines of the well known 911 and made the 996 look like a glorified Boxster and also put in major Japanese looking interiors.

Then came the Cayenne which looks like a 4WD Boxster... :vomit:

Ello!!! Porsche!! Anyone home... Ellllooooooo!

And now this 4 Door abortion posted above...:suspect:

Ellooooooooo!!!

The only thing they have done right since the 993, IMO, is the Carrera GT.

My opinion; this new concept ... I dont think they should carry on with. Maybe a 4 door Porsche like the RX-8 but this is a tad too far.

I loved the 993 as well... Turbo :yup:

Man, that pic brings tears to my eyes!

I had a normally aspirated, because they didn't make the Cabs in turbo.. but Ihad Dave White racing do mine up... Cams, head work, exhaust, undercut tranny, eibach lowering springs,... it was a rocket ship.

Pics taken right before I sold it.. :crying:

I think they tried to hard to keep 911 styling.

I would have used this car as my inspiration for a rear trunk and roofline starting point, but I would have made the c pillar more like the 911 instead.
