: The curse contunues.. That sickening crushing noise.

My B/F backed into my DeVille with his Piece of S*&T purple escort wagon. 960 bucks is the quote to fix it. It bent the chrome bumper corner and we also have to replace the shock absorber (over 400 just for that). I nearly puked when I heard that crash while I was sitting at the table. His useless son (who he was rushing off to a party) says "It still looks straight, Faith." Hey DBAG.. He bent the chrome... ON THE OTHER SIDE. Go smoke some more pot in the woods and grow some facial hair. I'm livid. Pics to come.

Oh, and the donor 60 special we got a few weeks ago?.... guess what? It's bumper is crushed too. FML

Don't even try to get facial hair pics. It's a myth that hair continues to grow after death, particularly extremely violent death.

Sorry faith, hope it is not a very serious damage. The bumper needs to be replaced or the body shop can fix it?

I guess because it's chrome, it's cheaper to replace it. If we can find the part.

Bumper shock is $400?? Local junkyards can't even give those away.

If you need a bumper, and can't source one locally, drop me a line. We have tons of those late 80s/ 90s fwd devilles/ fleetwoods in the yards here. And it will be cheaper than what you were quoted for the bumper shock alone shipped.

Pardon my French, but cars are fixable (to some extent)(witness my current fender repair in progress) but it sounds as if you need a change of companion and his offspring.

That's an original pick up line. But you should post pics of your kids with it. ;)

I think we found the parts in Ohio. We even found an entire bumper with a Continental kit for 300 bucks. But, we discussed that in a previous thread already haha.

Bingo
Vincent proposed to me weeks ago. I might just move to Washington to keep my DeVille safe.

When I sent a bumper to a RWD member, it cost just under 200 shipped from STL to PA (including me pulling, buying, polishing it up, and making a crate for it).

That was my immediate thought, but then I remembered the "companion" is the only reason she is here with a Cadillac to begin with. So I cut him some slack. (That and because I have done plenty of bone-headed mistakes myself!)

....now the offspring would seem to be, um, expendable...?:bricks:

This is th repair that will cost over 900 bucks. Of course the B/F ordered used parts from his OWN place of employment that were "A condition" and they arrived broken. Mounting for bumper corned totally broken, and chrome in worse shape than mine. Plus, the shock absorber was literally crumbling apart from rust. http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq136/faithallesi/0807131514b_zps88ad0339.jpg (http://s441.photobucket.com/user/faithallesi/media/0807131514b_zps88ad0339.jpg.html)
Vincent's offer is looking better and better

That's Derek from Comerford's Collision in Fredonia NY holding up the part. Real solid guy and loves Cadillacs.
