I had recently wanted to see how it would look to plasti dip the front grille of my V because there aren't that many that I've seen in white that have been plasti dipped in the front so I tried it and here is how it looks. Tell me what you guys think and what you think looks better.

yeah, looks good. The plasti dip grille look is actually quite good. I like the rubbery coating too.

Did you cover up the components behind the grill before spraying? If so is there an easy way to do that without removing everything?

Glad you guys like it. And it will last. Did for 2 years + on mine before I sold it...

Car looks beautiful, I'm looking to do the same, was going to pay to get it done. You did a great job btw.
Where could I find instructions to do this?

Thanks!

All you have to do is mask off the sides, you don't need to cover the back components at all, they'll be fine. Just mask the emblems and spray, 1st coat about 50% transparency, wait for 15mins, and spray 2nd coat for 100% transparency and wait for 15mins again. Keep going until you are satisfied but in my experience 4-5 coats is the best

Have you guys touched yours up at all with additional coats later? I've noticed some rock impacts that have put holes in the dip. It's subtle, but at some point it will get worse. Can I just respray right over the old dip or do I have to pull it all off and redo?

yes. just make sure the can is at least 72* and shaken well. I've done several spot "touch-ups" and it's impossible to tell the difference.

Sort of comes from factory like this....it will just cost you $600+.

perfect!!!!

It does improve the lppk of the grill but the thing you failed to point out is that it can be color matched to the rest of the car if you like.

Can someone explain how you get the plasti dip to come off the emblem without peeling some of the grill plasti dip with it?

I took my emblem off...

Does that require bumper removal, if not can you tell me how to do that when you get time. Thanks

The emblem is glued on. Some heat and careful prying should get it off...

What I did was spray over the emblem and when I finished spraying my last coat and it was still wet, I peeled the dip off the emblem. This helped me by not getting it stuck to the grille and so it gave me a clean finish. Its a lot easier than taking the emblem off.

I did this same method and it came out just as OP's pictures. 1000x easier with the same results.

I also added the Glossifier on top of the black, looks great on my Black Raven.

What else did you dip? I'm trying to figure out how to do the window trim man :(

I dipped some of my chrome on the back tailgate but got tired of it. So that's been peeled off. I still like the grille in black so I've left that. It may need some touch up coats due to rocks. As for the emblem, spray everything and then peel the emblem. It doesn't pull off the grille coat.
