So my friends say, how do you get your car so shiny and keep it nice looking? I say Zaino, and elbow grease. Well to my dismay they bring their cars over to me and I have to polish them up lol. It's a good great arm workout, but damn people can I get back to my own car? Lol

After reading Randy's thread....I want to reiterate how Zaino products really have turned quite a few heads over the years. I don't get commish on their products (I should probably) but they really have superior stuff when it comes to detailing and making the car "pop" for lack of a better term. Pics are wash, claybar, re-wash, dry, polish, and hit up with either gloss enhancer, or filane spray.

Z-7 car wash
Z-2 polish
Z-18 clay bar

Here's a few $hitty cell pics of cars I've done over the last month:

Their tire shine is the absolute $hit as well. It's in between glossy and matte. And it won't fling off all over your car. The Leather in a Bottle is magic as well. That brings the new car smell back, and makes the leather amazing looking.

The only thing of theirs I've found to be meh is the Z-14 plastic renew stuff. That $hit sucks, don't waste your time.

Other than that, go get some. It's worth it.

I'll try to take some better pics, but even with cell pics you can see this difference a little hard work and some Zaino do for ya.

POST UP SOME OF YOUR PICS!

Beautiful. I made the mistake of going with some Turtle black car kit that I got at the local auto parts store. Crap load of elbow grease, sub par results.

I will be getting some Zaino immediately. My car will love me for it, I'm sure.

hope you didn't actually hand polish and at least used a DA
Z-7 car wash

Z-18 clay bar

Z-8 finale spray is that the order of your process? it'd be better if you're claying first then polish/correct

Zaino FTW. I used it for years on my BBB '96 SS, and now the V. I still have the Z-5, too. But I've gotten a DA and some M105 and M205 to get those swirl marks.

I never tried the accelerator stuff they had a few years ago, just waited between coats.

In fact, Zaino is so good, I didn't do my car for over a year (didn't need to since it sits in garage too much during the winter), and the dang accelerator stuff congealed on me. :rant2: You're suppose to put drops of it in the Z-2 then shake it up before applying. Apparently, the stuff has about an 18-month shelf life. Gotta remember that next time.

Looks darn good, Shane. So does mberisha's V ... wow!

Zaino is great if you know how to properly use it. That's what I was taught how to detail cars with and I love it. Honestly though, the results you get from Zaino aren't a whole lot more noticeable than they would be with Maguiar's or Mother's if someone knows what they're doing.

All great pics, I used Zaino a lot years ago, got hooked on some product I like better now and pretty much stay with that but with detailing its all about personal preferences, as long as you dont use Armor All on anything then Im fine with it...haha that stuff is no good, too bad it took me years to figure it out

This is a 3 stage menzera paint correction topped with wolfgang v3 sealer
Car looks like a sheet of glass
I have used zanio in the past and liked it , I find the wolfgang is a bit more reflective on metallic colors
I use a rotary however , but I restore paint for a living 50 hours a week
I have seen my fair share of bad DIY rotary and dual action jobs that get sent my way to repair

Here's an even better question. How does everyone avoid getting all kinds of rock chips and what not? I've got a ton of them, and I've always gotten a ton of them, on pretty much every car I've owned.

I always recommend to my customers that daily there cars to get the clear film done like Rander said
If the rash is deep best option is repaint or reclear the affected areas

Clear bras are great. I just bought a 2013 Toyota Highlander Limited for my wife in March and the first thing I did was call and schedule an appointment to get that put on. The thing no one told me that I had to figure out for myself was that bugs and whatnot are very hard to wash off of the clear bra and using your fingernails when a car sponge doesn't work leaves scratches...a coat of wax took care of that.

I've used the Dr. Colorchip on the V and my wife's Oriental Blue E39 BMW. I have to admit that it worked better on the BMW than the V, how hard is BLACK to match anyway, LOL. On a serious note, the Dr. Colorchip MAY take multiple coats for really deep nicks, but I am absolutely impressed with the application process that doesn't end up looking like globs of touch up paint. It can be fairly time consuming and the smallest kit they make is a LOT of touch up paint, it's really the blending solution and cloths that you may run out of if you're trying to touch up the ENTIRE car and have a ton of chips you're dealing with.

WOW. Ambitious!

I think I used Z1, followed by Z5, Z2, Z5, Z2, wetting the pad with Z6 through the process. I forgot that my wife bought me the Z8 finale spray, so that will have to go on with the next coat. It is a POLISH and not a wax, so I don't use it on my DD's, but is all I use on the big boy toys. I've used Zaino for over 12 years and was always impressed with the results on my Silver Trans Am and brother's Quasar Blue Z28, but it sure does a great job of hiding minor surface imperfections and making black really POP too.

(Since these pics were taken I did take the front plate bracket off and installed a 3M Clearbra on the hood, bumper and headlights. It was a pain in the @$$, turned out OK, but black is VERY tough and shows every imperfection. I'm willing to live with it for a while before I attempt a redo)

I purchased the Maguiars kit with DA Porter Cable polisher. I couldn't be happier! I have used the system for years and have been pleased. Once you get used to the DA it is impossible to go back to a hand polish.

With anything, by the time you go through the car you have 4-5 passes. It is a time killer.

The site I purchased from used to be www.properautocare.com, but they must have been bought out and you get redirected to www.autopia-carcare.com (same products, diff site) Check them out, I have been happy with the how-to videos and products.

Great photos!!! Thanks for sharing.

I've used Zaino for years too. i wanted to get my new to me 04 cleaned up and something on it. I use the ICE since it is quick and simple. Gives a pretty good shine for quick and easy. I did use my Zaino leather clean/condition and do like that a lot. Also used their tire gel. Still have a couple of bottles of Z2 and Z5 and some accelerant. I've used that before when I needed to get done quicker and didn't want to deal with the drying time. It works but you have to be careful with it. Mine is old now so I'll trash it. I also bought a Porter Cable DA that was real popular. I've used that enough times to know that I'd rather do it by hand with Zaino. The stuff does not require hard pressure putting on or taking off from my memory.

Zaino is great on some colors. I loved it on my old metallic gray ranger and white mustang, but it didnt give me as deep of a color on black that I like. It makes it shiny as heck, but not as deep as I wanted. Their leather and tire stuff is amazing though. My last detail was:

Porter cable/Meguires m105/orange pad
Porter Cable/Menzerna po85rd/white pad
Hand/Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint sealant 3.0/microfiber
Hand/Pinnacle Souveran/Microfiber

MUCH deeper of a black and plenty shiny, too. Doesnt last nearly as long as zaino though. I good coat of zaino can almost last a year.

Anyone using Collinite's? I've been using their No. 925 boat wax for about 10 years. My regimen is pretty simple... Wash, clay bar, wash, wax, then I use turtle wax ice as a QD. The 925 gives it a pretty deep reflection, and the ice gives it a shallow shinyness. When you put them together it turns out quite nice.

I've always waxed all windows except the windshield, and I do all the lenses also.

I used 845 once. Reading the packaging, the protection seems incredible. It didn't give me the results of 925 though. My uncle actually uses 925 but as a QD. He waters it down and puts it in a spray bottle!
