Hey guys, gals, I used to be a service tech for Chrysler but got out of the repair
business in 2004. My wife's AC compressor locked up and I got a reman unit but it lllooks like a real SOB to change out! Any tricks? Thanks ahead of time!

171 people viewed this and no ones replaced their own AC compressor and can't tell me the easiest way to get it out? Guess this isn't a technical forum!

It's an owners and enthusiasts forum. My guess about the lack of responses is that an A/C compressor failure on an STS is a rare event.

I would have helped but as I have the 4.6L V8 and not the V6 the info from alldata that I have doesn't apply to your car.
You might check out the CTS forum. They all have the 3.6 and may have had to do A/C compressor replacements.
Koz is right. A/C issues are very rare on the STS. Are you sure that's your problem?
If it's your passenger side not as cool as the driver's, you may just be a bit low on freon. For some reason, that shows up first.
