: Jade Green 2004?

I now have a very clean 2004 - but it sure looks to be Jade Green. I have been all over it really carefully, under hood, door sills, inside trunk, etc., and it sure looks like original factory paint to me.

130985

What do I have here? There were 238 CTS's produced in this color before they dropped it - might it have been a special order? It's a perfect color for the car, in the opinion of someone who has always, always had black cars.

What is the forest green is going on here?

Take some more pics from multiple angles and post em up. (front, side, interior)

Isn't the paint code in the VIN?
Does the VIN come up as a V?

My guess is that it was damaged and repainted at some point. Repainted very well apparently, but I doubt that you have 1 of 1 Jade Green CTS-Vs.

I suppose anything is possible though.

OK. This shows the metallic green color pretty well:

131001

This was in the shade, can't see the color that well:

131009

Interior is stock black (I've since cleaned up the buttons):

131017

I think I've tracked down the original dealer, and I've asked if they know anything about the original order.

Yes, it's a V by the VIN 1G6DN57S240166469 (proper LS6 "S" engine), but there's no color code in the VIN as far as I can see:

The bottom of the rear seat comes up pretty easy if you pull up on the front of it. You can remove it from the car just by pulling up the front and then sliding it forward a bit.

With the seat bottom out you should be able to see the floor pan under the seat area and under the rear carpet. I doubt that a repaint would have pulled the entire interior to paint this area. If the entire interior is Jade Green I'd be willing to believe it is a factory paint job.

Grrr, the lady has to be with the car right now. I have had the seat out, and I certainly didn't notice any other color, but I wasn't looking for it. Stay tuned till she gets home!

Looks good but more pics needed... the last two just look black-ish in the shade. Thanks! Tug up on that rear seat like he said and tell us if that area is painted.

Pretty cool - could be the mythical unicorn CTS-V!

Regardless of whether it's the factory paint job or not, it looks good. I've always been a fan of dark greens like that. My first Subie was dark green, and I wasn't able to find another to replace it when I totalled it. I've had my silver Subie for almost 13 years now, but I still miss the dark green one I had in the same body style.

Lady's home, more (big!) pics. First, this is the color for a V:

Couldn't find a flaw, here's inside trunk:

BUT ... the back floor does look kinda black:

And finally, the elusive clue - but you have to lolok close:

So no unicorn, but I am a happy owner :cloud9:. The CarFax was clean, I bought this one-owner from the dealer that sold it new (and took it back from the guy on a trade for a new V), so it was not a damage repaint, just a really good job to the owner's taste.

Interesting! That one has a tan interior, and appears to have been in OH (or the phone is) and mine has always lived in CT.

Gorgeous color. Green has always been my favorite color.

I'd have to warm up to it being on a V, though. It just ain't right somehow.

I think I recall something about the early V display models including green, but it didn't get into production.

I think it looks great. I hate silver and black, and I only bought mine in silver because I hate it less than black. What I really wanted was that burned orange color that was available on the 2003 CTS.

I was thinking that there's a factory paint code on a VIN plate/label somewhere. Maybe I'm thinking of my other cars?

People said a sticker under the spare cover (nothing there), and something on the firewall but I sure can't find anything.

Orange? Like with a confederate flag on top and a big "01" on the sides?

Kind of. This was a factory color for the 2003 base CTS, I loved it:
