Apologies if this isn't the right place for this, or if everyone has seen it. But here's a 1979 Phaeton in Slate Firemist with only 12k miles. Quite a beautiful car:

I like that car to an unhealthy degree. A Castilian wagon first though.

Beautiful car.
Not sure it's worth that much, though.

Very nice. I have noticed a few things I question. The hood emblem is from 1978, but these were vandalized regularly and they could have replaced it with that one. Was that overhead light part of the option package on the Phaeton in '79? I know it was installed on the Fleetwoods. I wouldn't hit buy it now, but it is a very nice example of the Phaeton in that year.

The '79's had the same hood ornament as '78 ('78 was the first year for the solid, colored ornament.)
The overhead light in that one is identical to the one in my '79 CDV.

Something about the sheet metal alignment on that car makes me think someone has given it a going over.

Classy looking Caddy! Looks like it just rolled of the production line.
Amazing how a 34 year old Caddy can look so sweet--even the engine bay is immaculate.

My 79 deVille has some pretty interesting sheet metal alignments, it must have been the way they were slapping them together that year.

The 79's also have the map lights as part of the interior dome light, this was only in 79, in 77-78 the map lights were below the radio and in 80 the map lights were by the sunvisors with the first year of the available built in garage door opener.

I thought the map lights below the radio was cool...although I thought it was lights so you could see the mirror adjustment and rear defroster. Also, didn't there used to be a backlight for the mirror adjuster? My 86 appears to have a holder for a small light bulb (but no bulb or wiring) behind the mirror adjustment plate.

My 79 has no right side mirror switch backlighting nor provisions for a bulb.

I wondered about that. I was getting ready to tear into the dash on mine to try and replace the bulb...
