: Grinding Sound

I just noticed when I turn left or right I can hear what sounds like to metal grinding. Has anyone experienced this issue? I think it's my rotors, but I could be wrong.

Any suggestions....

I had a grinding/howling sound coming from the rear differential when I would turn L/R when the car was cold. Had the dif serviced today per the TSB referenced in the rear end symptom thread, and so far the noises are gone and there were no metal chips on the drain plug magnet. I'll know for sure in the morning when it's really quiet outside and the car is totally cold, but so far sounds quiet.

Trapspeed, it was a clicking sound on Monday and they told me it was my rotors. Today, it's making a
grinding noise. Idk what it could be.

Pnblwzd, it sounds like it's coming from the front tire area. Who knows at this point...

I see you're driving an '09. Chances are it never had the additive and refill TSB done which may not be helping. Anything that sounds like grinding from the carrier is leading to a bearing failure sooner than later. Is it still under warranty?

Yes, but it's actually a 2011.

Thank you Laura. I just got it back from my local dealer and he said that my aftermarket headers are causing this issue.

P.S. You are so helpful, thank you again for everything that you do for us.

No, the dealer won't fix because I put those headers on the car.

Why would headers be causing a grinding noise, unless they are rubbing/vibrating on something like the frame? I would suggest getting a second opinion on that diagnosis.

I was told that the motor shifts from side to side when making turns. The headers are like a few millimeters away from the subframe and the oil something they said. Who knows really?

I think the dealer is wrong. My car is essentially bone stock and when I'm driving slowly in a parking lot under full lock, I hear a rubbing/grinding too. No idea what it is.

Hmmm...I wonder what it could be. Have you had yours checked out?

No, but I'm going to have her on jack stands in the next week or so. I'll turn lock to lock and see what I see then.
