Made a trip to my mechanic today to have my starting problems diagnosed and they are as follows.

1. Cracked vacuum hose (Fixed)
2. Bad choke pull off (Part ordered)
3. Bad idle control unit (Part ordered)

Estimated $215 for the two jobs to be done. I can honestly say I'm in a world of relief.

Apparently I needed one more, a purge valve which is an extra $33 on my bill. What's the purge valve do?

Purge valve.... Prob an EVAP part (charcoal canister). Sounds like the valve that applies vacuum to the canister under certain conditions to draw the fumes out.
