: Clutch reservoir help

I wanted to change my clutch fluid, and this is my first drive this summer. Clutch fluid had some debris in it this spring and I wanted to change it. I pulled the cap off and seem to have a n issue. The rubber is all twisted up and this little plastic piece was laying in the bottom. I'm not sure how it goes back together.
The plastic piece I'm assuming attaches to the rubber boot on the bottom? And the boot does not fit well at All

That little plastic piece should fit in the whole of the rubber piece.

You should be able to compress the rubber piece like an accordion before putting it in. At least I usually do.

If that plastic piece keeps falling out, I'd stop by the dealer and get a new one. It's just meant to keep the fluid in the reservoir from splashing around and getting air in your clutch line.

So the runbber piece doesn't attach to the cap, it just sets down in the cup?
Thank you

Right. Rubber piece in the reservoir then screw the cap on over it.
