: Ventilated seats revisited

Today for the first time in SilverFox, my Platinum XTS, I actually felt the ventilated seats functioning. The day was unusual for Las Vegas where we normally have single digit humidity, but today we were in the mid 40% range and you could actually feel the 'coolness' of the air being moved by your body on both the top/back and bottom sections of the seat. So the bottom line, at least in my almost 1 year experience with SilverFox, is that here in the desert the ventilated seats basically never feel like they are functioning even though you can hear the fans (if there is no other ambient noise or radio on), however if the air is moist or you are sweaty you most definitely can feel it working. This perhaps explains why in the earlier post I started on this issue, some owners reported their seat ventilation was working just fine while others like myself felt they were a real disappointment. My guess is those individuals are in climates that have some reasonable humidity versus our normal very low humidity. :cool2:

Very good explanation.

Thanks @ddawson. It only took me nearly a year to figure it out :)

You're excused. You should come and live in the Detroit area in the summer where humidity levels get can
get quite high. But then again I think you are quite happy where you are. Lucky guy.

Lived there for 18 years before Vegas and that's probably why my STSs seat ventilation worked so well! That is how my prior STS was signed by Kip Wasenko who I met going out to dinner one night. :cool2:

Well kipsts, given you explanation that probably means when I pick up my wife at the LV airport, she will not feel the air circulating. LOL.

Well kipsts, given you explanation that probably means when I pick up my wife at the LV airport, she will not feel the air circulating. LOL. Well that kind of depends CDN XTS. Compared to Ontario it will feel like a hair dryer on the skin right now. In a few days they are predicting our temporarily higher humidity in Vegas will be lower and evaporative cooling will again be the norm. At any rate she and you will no doubt enjoy the extensive use of AC and hardly notice the air while being awed by our adult Disneyland, the amazing major casinos and great shows along with food on par with the best. Be sure to show her the phenomenal natural beauty within easy drives including Valley of Fire, Red Rock, Death Valley and Hoover Dam (ok, not really natural beauty but one heck of an engineering feat). Enjoy! :cool2:
