It turns clockwise to remove it! They can be pretty tight, so a breaker bar might be a good idea!

I just changed mine and I took a impact to it on low pressure ...it was stuck on their ..I broke 3 teeth on the tool before I put the impact on and when I used the impact it came right off...just a thought

I just changed mine. All day, $19 tool, Rust Buster, Breaker Bar, 4' pipe ext., Sledge Hammer, Impact Wrench did't work, Altered Tool by sharpening teeth, two guys one to hold pressure the other to tap on Breaker bar where it plugs into tool. Get too at Tool Supply. Deal no help.

The $20 tool is made of stamped heavy guage sheet metal. The $75 Snap-on or better tool is machined out of steel and is more likely to hold up to the torque and/or impact needed. It's the old "You get what you pay for" story.

I just changed mine with a $20 tool from Advanced Auto - an AmPro T72055.

Clearly not a Snap-On product but the base itself is about a half inch solid. Seems more robust than other cheap ones I've seen posted.

I just used a standard half inch breaker bar, and yes it was a challenge. The tool held up well, barely a scratch, and now I have a $20 paperweight!
