Well, I have decided to have my '76 Fleetwood Seventy-Five Limousine repainted, which it has needed for a several years.

See photos below of it parked next to my '69 Fleetwood Brougham. You can tell how faded the paint is compared to the '69.

When I was thinking about having it repainted a few years ago, I was seriously considering dark blue. But since I recently had my '95 Lincoln Town Car painted in that color, I will stay with the black for the limousine.

I will post updates. Paint job is supposed to take about one week and I brought it in on Tuesday.

Great looking Lincoln, and, good choice to stay black on the limo!

Is that a factory Ford color on the Lincoln? My '94 was the same color, but yours looks a tad lighter.

Thanks. The Lincoln was grey; I like it much better in dark blue.

Right, might as well stay with the original color with the limousine.

Yes, it is a factory 1995 Lincoln color. It is called "Dark Portofino Blue Clearcoat Metallic."

Yup, that's what color mine was, with a matching full cloth roof, and saddle interior. When polished, it turned almost iridescent with a purple hue in certain lights. Pretty color

Yes, it is a nice shade of blue. Like you said, it sometimes almost looks purple in certain light. The interior in mine is a very dark gray. If I bought the car new, I would have picked the dark blue interior. I don't know why the original owner chose gray/gray.

One day I want one of those 76 Limos to go along with my 76 sedan deville

Which needs new black paint.... so I'll be watching this with interest

You would love owning a limousine! They are so large and smooth-riding that Cadillac was right when they said in the 1976 brochure, "Very special cars for people interested in luxury... in an executive size."

No word yet from the paint shop. It's been in there 6 days as of today. Should be nearing completion.

She's gonna look incredible when she's done! Good choice on staying with black. Only silver comes close to being as good looking on the Series 75s as black.

Yes, it should look very good. A few years ago, when I was also considering having it repainted, dark blue was a very possible option. But now I have a blue Lincoln, so I will stay with black.

As of yesterday, no word from the paint shop. It should be done any day now.

Okay, limousine repaint is completed. I already drove it back and took the following photos.

It looks much better. No more spider-webbing, no fading and the few minor dings and creases are gone, too.

Looks good

Makes me want to get mine done now
It has significant crazing and some dents that need attention

I might delete the horizontal trims along the centre of the body when I do mine

A good paint job does make a car look new, or almost new.

I definitely will keep the horizontal trim on mine. I try to park away from cars but sometimes another car parks next to mine anyway. And those rub strips do help prevent door dings.

I took more photos a few days ago, from different angles. I especially like how it looks in the first photo... very black and shiny! Also, one photo of the rear compartment.
