: Replace in-dash minidisc player with cd player 98 Seville

I recently purchased a 98 STS, it has the mini-disc player in the dash. It also has the 6 disc changer, but for convenience sake I'd like to have the single in-dash cd player too.

Any idea where could I buy a new/used/refurbished OEM unit, and how much it might set me back? How difficult to install?

Thanks

2 weeks and no reply, c'mon folks help a poor fella out here!
At least re-direct me to the right forum if that's the problem.

Thanks

No, I want an in-dash cd player instead of a mini-disc player. I'd then like to get rid of the 6disc behemoth in my console.
I've found some on ebay, of course, so it may be moot, but any other ideas are still welcome.
Installation tips are welcome, too.

Thanks

Oh, yeah, btw, wtf is a mini-disc, anyways? I don't believe I've ever seen one, but they must have been popular in 1998.
I still play records at home, so I'm not big on digital music.

Sony made a decent mini disc head unit.

Installation is easy as dell. http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/learningcenter/car/install_movie.html

Here's a pic of the cd player (which I have purchased, but not the one pictured).

The mini-disc player is the same unit, except of course there is a smaller slot where the cd slot is. It is shown in the Seville owner's manual, but I can't get my scanner to function today.

So anyways, I have tracked down the unit, now I need to install it. I'm still hoping for hints / ideas specific to the 98 Seville.
Once installed, I will be removing the 6 disc cd changer. I have found that I only listen to one cd at a time, so the changer is just taking up valuable console storage space.

Hello...
I'm a big fan of Mini Disc. It's a very versitile medium that's easy to record, edit, move tracks etc...the newer models can record 5 hours onto one disc. It can record either analog or digital. It's great for archiving my vinyl collection and...uploading music is a breeze- it can be done from your pc.

I'd like to have a MD in my STS...Are you gonna sell the unit? I use my portable MD to play 5 hour discs I've pre-recorded from XM Radio. I have both a cassette adapter and an FM modulator (I think the sound from the cassette is better).
I'd like to upgrade my XM Radio install, too, but this audio system isn't easy to interface with. I've got a few ideas of how to connect with this system...but I need to research this more.

Hello...

I finally got the cd player working. I was gonna keep it the MD player for spare parts, but that really just means it would sit around and collect dust for the next 5 years. So yes, the minidisc player is available. I'm also looking to unload the six disc cd changer.

There's one minor issue with the MD player, we can discuss if you are really interested. I'm sure we can work something out re: price, I'm not out to make a killing here. Pretty much just shipping and a small fee.

Is there a way for you to email me without me providing the address in public?
