I cant find this information any damned place. does the crank pulley on the sts-v's have a balancer on them? from what I can tell, it does not. but need to know because I will be having another shop OTHER THAN d3 make one and want to make sure its done correctly. if it has a balancer they suggested just buying the d3 one, otherwise theirs will be about half the cost and made in a 1 piece design with whatever material I want.

I don't know if this answer your ?. But the oem one is one piece and the d3 is two that bolt together that make one.
Yes it has a balancer also.
+1, the OEM pulley is integrated into the balancer.

I've been wondering this myself... Being a machinist, I can't see myself spending 1k on a pulley when I could make a freaking titanium pulley for less! LOL Gotta pay for the R&D I guess. I do believe that Tom's pulley is priced fair but am also a bit worried about pulling the snout off the s/c in order to propperly remove that pulley. Oh....the proplems with building horse power. LOL!
Any body here have the D3 pulley? I would be interested in knowing the diameter...

I read stock is 5.88" diameter and D3 is 6.47" diameter.

Looking at D3's photo, it doesn't look like there's a balancer does there...

Isn't the silver part the balancer and the black part the S/C Pulley?

I don't follow pga. my knowledge of motor stuff is showing on this one.. how important is the balancer?
The balancer is just a thick metal ring that rides on a rubber spacer. The inner-most accessory belt rides on the balance ring. It dampens engine vibrations that can harm bearings over time. Even drag cars that get run for a minute at a time have them so I'd be extremely surprised if the d3 unit didn't have one.

Yes its a balancer, the factory balancer/pulley is one piece. D3's pully is two pieces, the balancer/pulley and the lower blower pulley bolt together... not fun to change and its the first harmonic balancer I've replaced that's not keyed to the crack. Has to be a nutural balance balancer.
