Hey guys. I am trying to gain some clearance for putting the 500 in a 67 stang. In order to cut the length of the block as mutch as possible, I have decided that putting in an electric water pump would save me about 4 inches.
Anybody know who sells electric water pumps for the 500? If not, know any that would kit?

There are a number of ways to get a electric waterpump.
Here are two that I know work
#1 and quite possibly the cheapest
Take a stock waterpump and remove the impeller, bearings, everything out of the front of it.
Find a freeze plug that fits into the hole previously occupied by the bearing for the waterpump shaft and epoxy it in place
JB weld,Devcon etc
then take some fiberglass impregnated body filler and make the front of the pump look good.
Get a small electric water pump that can handle hot water (up to about 250deg.) available thru Graininger or any boating or RV supply place.
They make adapters to knock the hose sizes down to whatever size the fittings are on the remote pump.
you can mount the pump inline of on the frame rail....however you wanna mount it.
Prett somple and cheap...have maybe $150 in the whole thing
#2
You can make adapters for the CSI big block or small block chevy water pumps out of 3/4 inch thick aluminum but you will have to block off one of the holes in the block to do it.
I made a run of adapters a while back and sold them all and will eventually make more but havent had anyone in a year or so want any.
Pretty simple and the pumps line up pretty well.
Good luck JW

if you go the first route, make sure tha is a powerfull pump. Besides just moving the coolant (and it needs to move ALOT), the waterpump develops coolant pressure in the block - more than just what the radiator cap does. The higher pressure raises the waters boiling point further and makes the cooling system work better.
You can read a bit here

Basically, 90% of electric waterpumps are not adaquete for street use. On a drag car they're great because you can shut the engine off, but still circulate coolant in the pits before the next run. But a street car just won't get the cooling it needs.

The first suggestion was on the cheap
dedenbear ,CSR,Mezere, and others make remote pumps more than capable of flowing enough coolant for street use.
Its being done by a few of my customers on a regular basis.
