Which VIN code is the high HP N* motor? "9" or "V"? I can't remember.

The "9" has a higher HP than the "Y".

the "9" or L37 makes 295 HP (300 HP depending on the year).

The "Y" or LD8 makes 270 HP (275 HP depending on the year).

The new "V" is higher still with the addition of a supercharger.

The "V" makes 440 HP

I thought the "V" was an LS1 not a N*?

The CTS-V has the pushrods.

The STS-V (and other models too) has the blown 4.4 L Northstar.

As this post was under "Northstar Performance" I was noting Northstar engine values, and not including the CTS-V with a non-Northstar engine.

JIMD has noted the difference in V's in his post above.

Since it's kind of on topic......... Anybody know the intake manifold differences between the supercharged model, and say, <99 4.6L models? Or y2k+ models for that matter...... M112 supercharger I assume?

Sorry..... must find an easy way to get B00ST http://cadillacforums.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif

teh new northstar engine is the LH2 I believe? (Bbob, feel free to jump in). It's very different from any model before it. The main different is the variable valve timimg. You can get a supercharger to fit the northstar, the trouble is proamming the PCM to work with it.

OMG... I want one... I read that article and I want a 4.4L V series N* cadillac sooooo bad. I'm thinking the STS. I'd prefer the XLR...but I found I can't fit in one. They are way to small.

Here is my question though. Considering all these new WIZZZBANG things they are doing to the N*. What are the chances that the V series will last over 100k miles? Personnally if the vehicle doen'st have much of a chance seeing 250k on minimul maintainance I'm not interested, but it is a cadillac. I'd be willing to make an exception.

M122 huh? They use the 112 on the 4.6 cobras, so.. http://cadillacforums.com/forums/images/smilies/offwall.gif

It sounds like they're using the same heads....... Or at least as the VVT northstar (2004?) If I remember right, the 2000 shares the same intake port layout as the VVT...... So............ In *theory*, I think it will drop on y2k+ models. Maybe I'll have to pick up a 2000 to drop in place of my 95.
