: Anyone ever swapped front seat cushions left to right?

I must say I'm pretty impressed with the V's interior quality compared to other high end GM vehicles I've own/owned in the past.

I did a search and came up empty but was curious if anyone had ever swapped the left and right front seat cushions. My V has 90K miles on it now and the driver's leather while not cracking is showing some creasing on the outside edge from getting in and out of the car and I was thinking maybe swapping the left and right cushions out might be a good option.

The seat cushions look identical so I'm thinking it's a possibility. I was able to do this in my 96 Vette to even out the wear.

Also, any good leather conditioners out there? Last time I bought a product was 10 years ago and I still have it and it seems to work well, Lexol two stage cleaner and protectant. In 10 years though I'm wondering what advances have been made on an already good product.

Does yours have the passenger air bag presence system?
aka the passenger air bag only deploys when there is weight in the seat.
If so then no, because the sensor is part of the seat cushion so you would have no airbags at all if you did this swap.

all of the v's have this sensor. that being said, both seats should have it so it should be able to be done. just disconnect the sensor from pass seat and plug it into the driver harness..

Ah, I didn't think of the passenger presence system.

As Boomy suggested, I'll take a look and see if both have the sensor. If I can't swap the whole assembly maybe I'll look at swapping the covers. It sure would be nice to even out the wear. I'd hate to wind up someday with one brand new seat and one old one.

I'll take a look. I'm thinking that the driver seat doesn't have it though. Since the passenger might not be there I can see a sensor in that seat, but there will always be a driver present so there really wouldn't be the need for a sensor in the driver's seat.

im sure you can remove the sensor from the pass seat. normally not very hard if you aren't afraid to remove the cover. :)
