So you put a '94 PCM in a '96 Fleetwood? And it works?

Well i had the 1 under the hood flashed before installing in the 96, should i have keep the 1 in the trunk the 96 1 or leave the 94 in there? The car runs, i had my steering column out the 94 to

The 96 OBD2 PCM is a completly different part number than the 8051 OBD1 PCM used in the 94-95 B/D cars. You need a 96 PCM.

So you saying if i used the obdii it wont show correct codes? But i flashed the pcm shouldnt that matter????

----------

But some 1 told me if i used the pcm and the ccm it would work on my 96

The OBD1 PCM is different, even if flashed. It uses a different chip set, and looks for different resistance on the knock sensors. You need a 96 PCM in a 96 (and a 94/5 in a 94/5).

No, I'm batman. We've never been seen in the same room together. Coincidence? I think not!

I agree with Jay, it makes no sense to do that. The 96 is made to run on an OBDII.

No I am Batman. I have been seen in the same room as Batman---because I was smart enough to use Alfred as a decoy.

Im sorry it is a 96 pcm i just had it flashed, the ccm is a 94 along with the steering column i had installed would that matter or should i plug up back the 96 ccm in the trunk?

----------

This guy told me to use the ccm because i was going to use the 94 steering column with the 94 original key, does this makes sense to you guys, i had to bypass the column but it starts up

That makes more sense. I *think* the CCM is the same. If you've bypassed the PASS KEY system, and it works, why mess with the CCM now?

I did everthing at 1 time, i did the ccm becaus i thought the 94 original key would read it and would start

So now my question is would the obdii reader still read if it had the 94 ccm in the trunk or dont matter?

It doesn't matter. Only OBD-II powertrain codes are reported on the '96 and accessed via the OBD-II port. Body codes are the old style, like on the earlier years and can be accessed through the HVAC module.
