How hard would it be to upgrade the drums from the 2 inch width to 2.75 inch width?

If it was me, I would drop by the local parts store that you are friendly with, and ask to see the hardware for both side by side.

Then stop by the local GM dealer and see if the backing plates are the same P/N or not. Check axle shafts also.

Maybe this is where some of the different axle widths comes in.

And then post about your findings!

Personally I have a set of 76-77 Eldo calipers and backing plates for a rear disc Eldo that I am going to see what is involved in installed on my 94 FWB-V4P car. If anyone has any experience or advice, please let me know! I am not fond of these high buck aftermarket brake jobs. The factory has made tons of the parts that will fit if we can find the right combo. MUCH cheaper.... (backing plates at GM used to be only $50 each)

V4P is Trailering package, not to exceed 7000 lbs.

I think it has only 12in front discs and 11" x 2" rear drums (anyone confirm? I only have an 85 book and that is correct for an 85 Fleetwood)
