i have a 1983 cadillac fleetwood brougham. if im driving and i put the pedal to the floor it takes a couple of seconds before it kicks in. i was wondering if this is normal or not. im thinking its not, and if it isnt what could be causing this. thanks.

It should kick in right away if it is properly tuned anb running well. When is the last time you gave the old gal a good tune up?

i really should give it a good tune up, but the only thing holding me back from putting money into it is that im gonna be taking it off the road sometime soon because i want to work on it and get it really kick ass and hopefully put a new engine, trans, and rear end on. i just put 130 bucks into the rear brakes so i might delay taking it off the road.
