I was hoping someone can explain to me how to burn mp3 cd with the folders. Every time I try to burn a mp3 with folders and put it in the player it change folders, and it always start in folder 2. Every time I hit the folder button it just starts over. The track are in order by # such as 01,01,02,02,03,03.... Can someone tell me how to get this working properly?
thanks

Burning an MP3 disc with folders right now, used Ashampoo Burning Studio. I will report back shortly...

----------

I burned a disc with 10 folders, folder 1 is folder 2 when played in the car, that's strange but whatever...Pressing the folder+ key on the screen switched folders. The hard button on the console switches tracks within the folder. Seems to work fine for me...

Hi, I have burned about 10 cd's in different formats and none of them worked in my car. I have the Nav 15 speaker bose system. I forgot what it actually said. Actually I can try the cd's that I made in my Ford Explorer. We took our Ford in for some body work after an accident last summer and thought that I had taken all of the cd's out. It went to a vendor that I use at work and didn't think anything would get stolen. After we got it back my wife noticed that all of the cd circles were not highlighted. Then timing chain on engine broke loose. I pulled the engine out as didn't think I would get lucky for the front chain (SOHC) with dual chains. Rear went out as I anticipated. Replaced front and rear chains. Never thought about the cd player. Took out the cd player, tinkered a bit. Put back in, still not working, tapped it a bit, still no good, slapped it around figuring nothing to loose and got it back in sync and working great. I'll have to try the cd's in it. I have tried four or five different softwares but no luck. I will try the ashampoo as directed above. Thanks

I have all of mine in one directory, 'bout 120 tracks, and every once in a while, one track, or sometimes a few in a row, are skipped...inaccessible. No messages, no warnings, no nothing.

They appear in the playlist, but just don't work.

I've occasionally had luck reburning them at the lowest speed possible, but not always.

Hence, a Sansa Clip+ rides in the armrest storage area, plugged into the RCA jacks.

That's where my 32GB iPod lives

I've found both STS DVD/CD drives to be very demanding of media. Verbatim recordable optical media is widely considered state-of-art for data.

I use Memorex CD-R/DVD+R with no issues

I had a few of their old recordable CD's require recovery processing, but it was successful. I work in the financial services industry. Legally, 7 to 10 years retention is the norm but if a customer bank wants their older data, that really is the bottom line, isn't it?

Most Memorex magnetic media is second tier or worse.

I use itunes - if you sort your songe by artist you will have artist folders.
If you sort by genre the folders wiil be that
Sort by album and the folders will be album folders - very easy
I think if you sort by songs it is one folder - not sure...
I have one cd with 220 songs....

Same thing with the folder 2 thing but besides that works perfectly fine . Best program I've used for burning the sts mp3 disks.

Sure you can. But your sts won't read it.

CD still holds how much 4x MP3?

More than that, more like 10x+. I've gotten almost 200 tracks on one CD-R. It all depends on the file size. 700MB can fit A LOT of MP3 files.

I have 5,000 songs on my iPod in the center console though. Yet I still find myself listening to XM most of the time. Or I pile up data usage via Pandora on my company cell phone, we have quite the data pool that never gets used. I figure why not make a dent? :) Hell, we're spending probably $30k/month on all of the plans, someone should probably make use of it.

I was referring to ripping MP3's at higher bit rates, i.e. over-sampling. If 10 to 1 is typical under normal bit rates, 4x over-sampling will still yield 2.5 times the music of an audio CD. This assumes the Bose will play these MP3's.
