: Rear Strut/Air bag leak

After checking brake pad wear, I noticed squeezing the air bag made a hissing sound. Poured some soap on it and you can see where the air is coming out. This isn't normal right? I mean, if you were to "blow" into the inflation valve it just bleeds right out the top. I figured if it went bad, it'd be on the rubber part, it's pretty surprising to me that it'd be on the top.

I have never noticed my car sitting low or anything, and it's something I notice quite a bit when other cars are, but I guess I don't often carry a lot of heavy things back there either.

Here's the label on the front of the strut in case someone is wondering.

Air should only come in and out of the valve where the air line connects. Anything else is a failed strut bag.

I would replace it sooner rather than later. Not sure how long your compressor will last being on all the time to compensate for the leak.

yep. On previous caddy's with the air suspension in the back, I've had leaks but caught them early. The only way I knew was that when there was a load in the back, about 50% of the time I'd hear the compressor working but the car remaining low. But with no load, the car looked normal. If I never changed it, I'm sure I'd eventually see sagging with no load.

Same place mines leaked at. I was shocked also that it would leak there rather than the bag itself. Weird if you ask me. Maybe a flaw in design
