Irmscher CTS (http://www.auto-motor-sport.de/d/58070) Thankfully, it's Europe only. Neoflex 02-14-05, 01:42 PM In a weird way I like it and I actually prefer that center stack to the center stack on the CTS. Don't like it??
I have a suspicion that the design cues we see on that car are going to show up on the next CTS CTShead 02-14-05, 01:57 PM If you want to read the article.

Actually, it's written in german. (.de is Germany's country extension. The Dutch are from the Netherlands, which is .nl)
The significance? . . . . Germany is home to the CTS's main competition . . . Namely the C-class Mercedes and the BMW 3 and 5 series.
Interestingly, it's based on the FWD Saab chassis, and is for the European market only. It's placed between the CTS and the Saab 9-3 to compete with the Audi A4 among others. The dash and center console is interesting. OK, I have to put down the booze...I swear to god I thought I typed German. I speak and read German that is how I was able to understand the article.
Damn, WTF am I thinking about....I need a vacation megeebee 02-14-05, 02:25 PM I wish the CTS interior was more like this one. Samboosa 02-14-05, 02:51 PM Have you guys looked at the DTS in that page?
The interior looks OK but the exterior design is ugly IMO.
That won't stand to the LS430. Honestly, I like the DTS for what it is...a big, American luxury sedan. And that is not meant to be a put down...For the price, I think no one does big sedans with v8 power like Caddy does...not Benz, nor BMW, nor Lexus...all priced much higher then the Caddy. If you look at the performance on a veh by veh basis, I would guess that the Caddy may not have all the bells and whistles of the Europeans, but I bet it drives as well as those cars.
But I do not think the LS430 customer would even consider a DTS until the complete make over comes in 2007.
Me on the other hand, would consider a DTS before I ever bought an LS430. THE EXECUTIVE 02-14-05, 03:01 PM That bls looks like an acura tsx. the lip on that cts is nice Chuck C 02-14-05, 03:19 PM http://www.auto-motor-sport.de/sixcms/media.php/23/01_450.79421.jpg

Actually this German has been making aftermarket kits for the CTS for over a year. I really don't like his airdam a damn. gordon87 02-14-05, 03:52 PM I like the interior better. Looks more refined than the CTS/SRX style interior stack. On the BLS, notice the paddle shifters on the sterring wheel spokes, just above the normal buttons...nice touch if that is what they are.
I also like the analog clock on the top of the console and I like the rear license plate, decklid area of the BLS. Very clean design compared to the CTS, very similar, just that the lines seem tightened up better. Actually this German has been making aftermarket kits for the CTS for over a year. C'mon, really?? That thing screams VADER!!
I actually thought of your car when I first saw it thinking how mean it looked. Detroit News article:

The epsilon platform is also used on the Saab 9-3 and Chevy Malibu. I've driven the new Malibu a couple times and I think it's the best handling GM fwd platform. RobertCTS 02-14-05, 08:44 PM C'mon, really?? That thing screams VADER!!

I'd like to have a nice air dam Stag. This one doesn't get it done. My Star Fighter needs more lift!! :alien:
:nyanya: :histeric: crockone 02-14-05, 09:16 PM for some reason it dont look like a cts it looks like a volkswagon. Well, maybe thats good since they are selling it in Germany... megeebee 02-14-05, 10:03 PM European tastes are different from Americans in many respects. If this car is a success, it will pave the way for American built Cadillacs like the STS, and the upcoming (I hope) High end luxury sedan. Or even a small set of Cadillacs designed specifically for Europe. The BLS (I wonder if that's the best name) might also find its way to China. It's my opinion that we should all wish this product well. Not only because we love Cadillacs and what they represent to us, but for the American industry that is so important to our economy. Yes, this car will be built in Sweden (think about that for a minute, Cadillacs built in Sweden!), but the home office is right here in the good 'ol US of A. I say, Godspeed. Fast but not First 02-16-05, 09:24 AM It is frontwheel drive!!!.................ugh, the horror! LOL...I guess the European market perfers that RobertCTS 02-16-05, 09:42 AM It is frontwheel drive!!!.................ugh, the horror!
Ever notice..all successful race cars are either rwd or 4wd? fwd sucks! You can't steer with tires that are breaking traction. northjerseynick 06-10-05, 02:16 PM Its the new catera ben72227 06-13-05, 12:39 AM I'm glad its not here. Too small for an American Cadillac. But, the CTS could use some of that styling though. Especially that analog clock. That's the icing on the cake. It is frontwheel drive!!!.................ugh, the horror!
My 70 Eldo has FWD too... 400HP on the front wheels. No, it is not a drag racer, but I still get low 7 to 60! Considering the weight...
BLS is not for US. Don't worry! Just like the DTS won't be a success in Europe. ;) | |
