Ah cool, so that was your wagon I saw out there! That Homer car was damn fast, and the favorite of the race. I on the other hand, had the joy of rebuilding a Merkur 2.3L engine on Friday night after we blew a piston on our 2nd(!) testing lap. We finished up at about 3:30am and caught a few winks before the start of the race on Saturday. Good times!

Yeah! Which car were you working on?

Number 339, it's a white '89 Mekur XR4ti that we decorated to look like a Mercury-Redstone. In addition to the engine rebuild, we had to buy a new tranny cooler and plumb it in because we stripped the radiator fitting, we fought severe pinging under boost, plugged a fuel leak at the filler neck, fixed a cooling system that wouldn't pressurize, blew our intake hose...

I'd say we got a pretty good lemons experience.

Haha yeah sounds appropriate for Lemons. The Homer blew 4th gear on Saturday so they replaced the transmission overnight.

Silly racers. Y'all know you need to race a SHO!

That's pretty sweet!
