Hey here are some pictures I took from the event. The first is my favorite -- I was selected by Cadillac CTS V Marketing Manager John Kraemer to take one of their V's out on a parade Lap before the Main race on day 2 (Cadillac finished 1St and 2nd, O'Connell and Pilgrim, respectively) - while I was waiting to go on the track I noticed that Johnny O'Connell's car was being staged right behind the V I was in -- so I took a unique picture in the side view mirror -- and the i put a couple others on including the Corral -- there were 50+ V's there -- Alan Cohen's Patriot Missile is in the foreground of the picture.

A really fun event -- Cadillac did a great Job!

Few pics from the races. Weather was hot, but beautiful day to be at the track.
Cadillac had the "chalet" so we had A/C plus a rooftop view...

Thanks for letting me follow you from 287. The Nav in the V1 isn't so user friendly. Cool side pic and great plate.

No problem it was fun and it was good to meet you -- if you have time you should come to Pocono Raceway next Saturday or Sunday and take some pics -- Alan will be competing in time trials and I will be trying to improve my smoothness .... lol -- I do not believe there is a cost to get in and you can go right to the Paddock

What a nice event put on by Cadillac. the Cadillac pavilion with the race cars was awesome, and the cadillac 'VIP' area with AC and free drinks had some nice shaded spots even outside. It was nice seeing some other V owners there - I was the stealth blue wagon (had to leave early because with young kids). We seem like a real nice bunch! But the best picture is this one:

that's the first and second place winners with my son, just a few minutes after the race. despite sweltering heat, they had time to stop and be nice to the fans. First class people.

The Cadillac Lime Rock Grand Prix at Lime Rock was truly an amazing experience. Must thank Cadillac Racing for their hospitality this past weekend. I'm compiling pictures and video from the weekend for ctsvracing.com ...will be adding in a few posted here.

My daughter and I also had a great time and couldn't have survived the heat outside without the air conditioned chalet to return to.

Looks like you guys had a close look at the Cadillac race cars. Are there any similarities to what we drive? Appears they have sequential manual shifters. Do they use a clutch? Do they have an LSA engine? Output? Modifications? Suspension? Performance? Is it a totally different car under a V-Coupe shell?

In the tour of the pit (where the close up pictures were taken) we were told that the cars were taken off the production line and striped down to the frame and rebuilt all focused on making the car light -- the engine is naturally aspirated (no supercharger) and has less horsepower than the stock Vs. To answer your questions they specifically told us the tail lights, headlights, and grill were stock .... I think the vents on the dash were stock also ...LOL. We were allowed to move the door (which is carbon fiber) and I swear it weighed about as much as your cell phone ... very impressive .... the car is wrapped not painted also to save weight. Horse power for the class of cars is limited to be between 425 to 525 -- I think they said the Cadillac is around 525. They told us the steering wheel costs about $30 thousand ... so all in all it is not stock ... but started out off the normal production line.

If you get a chance to go to one of these racing events I can honestly say it is well worth it!

Also where the Pratt guys were able to shave off even more weight was with the roof panel.
Prior to this they used a standard non-sunroof sheetmetal roof panel. But this year, and since the rules state it must be a production item, they were able to utilize a sunroof equiped roof panel and then plug it up with a carbon fiber piece thus yielding some more weight reduction where it otherwise wasn't...

darn, I can't believe I missed out on this. I was at lime rock just this past weekend for a friend's event. I really enjoyed that place and had a ton of fun. It would have been much more fun if I went on the right weekend! Next year!
