Installed a new fuel pump yesterday. When I removed the trunk carpet I found this

Does anyone know what this is? I think I found one in my Seville when I replaced the fuel pump in that car.

Maybe but the fuel line at the pump doesn't even need a tool.

it's an assembly aid to hold carpet together during production.

It/s a seat belt tool for a Seville and early Deville’s. When someone gets an extension for the seat belt they get this clip to hold the extension to the belt to get out, otherwise the belt would end hanging out the door when they get out,

Okay that makes sense. Now to figure out how it got under the trunk carpet. Hmm
